There's a short campaign starring Ryder White, which fills in some of the backstory to the events that unfold, but it's stripped of the RPG elements that make
Dead Island fun to progress through.

Few games nail the visceral feel of melee combat and co-op
fun like
Dead Island.
If someone is still hungry for some zombie slashing after having finished the original
Dead Island, Riptide will provide same
fun enriched with some new equipment and fresh gameplay mechanics.
While it's got some irritating rough patches,
Dead Island: Riptide's 15 - hour campaign still manages to be a lot more
fun than it has any right to be.
The ability to use parkour to climb almost any obstacle certainly makes the gameplay much more
fun than the simple hack and slash of
Dead Island.
That's not to say I didn't have
fun playing Escape
Dead Island; The story managed to pull me through each zombie encounter, but the combat didn't feel fleshed out enough (again, pun totally intended) to be a genre defining game.
Dead Island is designed to be a multi-player experience, but when you find single - player campaign more
fun, there were strange discrepancies with the game.
Combat's generally more
fun than
Dead Island, with explosives and the ability to kick zombies into spike traps, but so far it does feel similar.

Dead Island collection is perfectly serviceable as a single - player jaunt, but when you add more players into the fray it becomes all the more

Parts of the game are still kind of
fun to play through cooperatively with friends — though, unlike in the first game, you sometimes feel like you have to be playing in co-op to avoid being overwhelmed by awful infinite enemy spawns — but coming from the
Dead Island, getting through Riptide mostly just felt like a slog that I wanted to be done with.
Maybe you're visiting your favorite game shop with nothing to play now that you've finished Bioshock Infinite, and
Dead Island: Riptide's box looks kind of
fun.
Just don't expect a true horror game;
Dead Island, especially when playing in online co-op, is more about the
fun and thrills than it is about the jump - scares.
The presence of so many technical issues may hurt future titles from Techland and overshadow the fact that
Dead island is actually a
fun game to play.
As much
fun as the co-op multiplayer in Dying Light provides, it's the same kind of
fun Dead Island fans got out of that series.
However, all is not
fun and games on the
island when the members of the staff begin turning up
dead one by one, and with each member having a sordid history, fingers start point at one another while the body count rises higher.
Now that the half - quel
Dead Island: Riptide has been kicking around for a while, I thought it might be
fun to play the game and see if the developers had made any of the changes I'd suggested in order to fix their interesting, yet broken, title.

Developer Techland's
Dead Island fit neatly into the latter category, blending several ideas from other zombie action games and integrating clever RPG elements for a
fun but flawed adventure.
In its purest form,
Dead Island: Riptide is very
fun, and most of the core gameplay doesn't require any major alterations to keep it that way.
Dead Island was
fun, and it certainly has its place among the dumb zombie games of the world, but for all that Dying Light looks kind of similar and comes from Techland, you absolutely can't go into it thinking that it's just more of the same.
The reason it exists is gory
fun, as though both
Dead Island and
Dead Island: Riptide were met with mixed reception, they sold relatively well because they were enjoyable to play.
Dead Island: Definitive Collection presents a lot of
fun, albeit dated and repetitive gameplay for an affordable price.
This game is not a «serious» zombie game like the
Dead Island series, but gameplay is
fun in a very over the top kind of way.
If you're looking for something
fun and can live with middling production values and gameplay that doesn't strive to be anything more than it is, then
Dead Island: Definitive Collection is definitely worth checking out.
As a fan of the
Dead Island series, this new take on the zombie game was surprisingly
fun and inventive.
Despite its weak presentation and technical issues,
Dead Island offers a
fun experience, assuming you can overlook its shortcomings.
Dead Island: Riptide provides a
fun experience; it just feels like this isn't the sequel many were hoping for, with barely fixing issues and reusing many of the same assets from the original game.
It seemed to be taking the few things I liked most about
Dead Island and making them better (random loot and tons of enemies to kill) while scuttling many of what I thought were its most damning downfalls —
Dead Island was a game that was much less
fun on your own.
Dead Island is certainly more
fun with friends and I encourage you to play it with a group of mates if you can.
It's kind of a shame to know that their A team was working on this while
Dead Island Riptide was thrown together but I'm grateful that Gunslinger exists because it's a solid and
fun first person shooter with some great hooks in it.
I also really enjoyed
Dead Island and thought that it was a really
fun game to play with friends, although the trailer lied to everyone.
Dead Island Riptide is a
fun novelty game best enjoyed co-operatively with others.
Despite some seriously shit cut - scenes, often not in - sync voice overs, noticeable pop - ins, I quite liked
Dead Island Riptide because all flaws aside I was having
fun!

The
Dead Island series now with
Dead Island: Riptide continues the tradition of just simple conceptual
fun of bashing zombies and surviving.
Dead Island is at its most
fun when played in co-op.
In many respects, Techland's clunky - but -
fun Dead Island games were a beta test for Dying Light, which is one of the best zombie games, to date.
Dead Island is definitely one of the better zombie killing games that shifts its action from beaches to hotels to close - quarters city environments, packing a whole host of
fun special moves, including beheadings.
