Double Dash For the Gamecube was the first and as far as I remember the only entry that dabbled with two - player karts.

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Mario, and I deffinately
liked Double Dash when that came out.

And I wouldn't
mind Double Dash for nostalgia though I'm so hyped for Mario Kart 8!
But I won't hear a bad word
about Double Dash, I have fond memories of playing that well into early hours of the morning with my houses mates when I was a student.
Here's where I'll pick up at least some flack from gamers: I absolutely
loved Double Dash for the GameCube.
In the Nintendo Switch reveal trailer, it showed small details about this game featuring what looked to be a possible
Double Dash style mode and King Boo.
Tag - team racing, LAN capabilities, character specific items and one of the best collection of courses is something that
makes Double Dash!!
I think I spent more time in high school playing
Double Dash instead of actually learning about learning stuffs.
It brought back the twitch controls that Mario 64 was missing and the whiplash speed that
Double Dash did so well without.

I saw rumors all over the Internet about Mario kart U being the
next double dash, where the second player (in the back or even if Your playing single player mode) uses the game pad to properly aim at enemies instead of just dropping them and yes it should have the option id using 2 gamepads when there are 2 or more players.

It would be fun to play Luigi's Mansion and
Double Dash again, and it would be awesome for those who haven't played them yet to get this chance
Double Dash reigns supreme according to a few Nintendo Wire team members, but the added mechanic of having two players on one kart, thus the ability to have crazy - awesome LAN parties, is quite magical.
I've heard arguments for those who hold the original in the highest regard, and many who
prefer Double Dash (they're not wrong), and still others who think the most recent in the series is the best.
What's really fun though - the Demo Disc (the ones for the in - store demo units) that contains a Mario Kart:
Double Dash preview... the LAN Option shows up on that menu - again, only if you have a LAN Adapter installed... but you can't select it at all.
We've been gaming together for almost four years now, so we've had a lot of «interesting» gaming sessions, ranging from some serious Mario Kart
Double Dash matches to almost coming to fisticuffs over a game of Turok: Evolution, of all games.
She appears in all of the Mario Party series since Mario Party 3 except Mario Party Advance, and all of the Mario Kart games
since Double Dash except for the first two installments of the Arcade GP series, and all five games in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
Not only does it have oncoming traffic (which we will talk about later) which just adds unneeded frustration to this course, but the music has the dreaded whistling which
plagued Double Dash's soundtrack.
While I definitely enjoy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, with the extra characters and the awesome battle modes, one of my favorites was
always Double Dash for the GameCube.
Super Mario Advance 1,2 and 4, Godzilla Double Smash, Super Mario 64 (Threw it away because of «Natural» causes...) If you're counting games that got scratch then: Resident Evil 4 Mario Party 8 Mario Super Sluggers Mario Kart
Double Dash Super Mario Sunshine Bomberman Generations and Spyro: Hero's Tail.
The items just fit well enough you'll never think they seem out of place like some of the Wii or
Double Dash ones.
Gone are the generic concepts that Mario Kart Wii and
Double Dash adored, every track in this game is Mario styled to a tee.
I've only really seen him in Mario Kart
Double Dash where he seemed completely insane, the kind of guy who you'd want to stick into an asylum before he blows up an orphanage just to see if that makes it rain cheese.
But saying that, I agree that it's pretty lackluster, compared to the gimmicky Rainbow Roads (
mostly Double Dash's Rainbow Road).
«I guess in terms of speedrunning as a whole,» he told us over Twitter messaging, «I got into it by playing the Mario Kart games,
especially Double Dash and Mario Kart Wii, they were amazing and I super enjoyed doing time attack in those games.»
A notable addition in Deluxe is the ability to carry two items, a feature
from Double Dash!!
Wario Stadium is followed by Sherbet Land, a remake of the first track
in Double Dash's Star Cup, which itself was a spiritual reimagining of a Mario Kart 64 track with the same name.
While I'd still love to see a return
of Double Dash's 1 kart 2 players, the new smart steering and auto acceleration really do help make the game more accessible.
