dungeons were probably not right beside each other, and so by sectioning off portions of the
map, I could better find the missing
dungeon in the blank
areas.

area before time's up, otherwise it's game over — and you have to restart the chapter.
You can save anytime you like from the main
map screen and some
dungeons will have a save point located within them — usually right before you approach an
area that contains a boss battle!
Battle Royale games can do something similar: have a sort of
dungeon master watching the entire
map, picking and choosing potential skirmishes on the
map and directing the camera to focus on those
areas.
On the sideview
maps, take control of the battle tank SOPHIA III and explore your surroundings as you search for the entrance to the
dungeon where the
area's boss lurks.
These master
dungeons are rather large, and Link must visit them between regular
dungeons to acquire Sea Charts and Rail
Maps, respectively, which guide him to previously unexplored
areas.
