Quick clarification, if I want to book an American Airlines flight through the Chase Sapphire Travel Portal, will I earn
EQM (miles) and EQS (segments) like normal towards elite status
since you said it was a revenue transaction?
I also plan to use miles to book all my flights to the Bay Area and Oregon,
since it no longer makes sense to pay ~ $ 200 - 300 for a measly 1,500
EQMs.
However, if you book those same 40,000 miles per year in business class on American, you would have only 40,000
EQM and 60,000 EQP (
since you would get 100 %
EQM and 1.5 EQP per mile).
This is amazing
since last year I only flew 16,000
EQM on AA and should truly have NO status.
I've held this card
since it was first introduced and I originally got it, primarily, for the 10,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (
EQM) benefit.
Not only am I excited to get to spend a few days in Hawaii after a whirlwind week and a half in Australia but I'll also get to fly a new airline, plus
since I paid for that ticket in business class ($ 2,500) I'll also earn AAdvantage miles and
EQMs, which I need to re-qualify for Executive Platinum this year.
