Fast forward to the present date and it seems that Galaxy S7 and S7
edge owners who participated in the beta can now
upgrade their handsets to the final release of Android 7.0 Nougat, one week
earlier than expected.

earlier upgrades, and faster speeds are on tap for Verizon customers.
Verizon halted the beta testing program for customers using the Galaxy S7 and S7
edge on its network, but assured those participating that they would receive the Android 7.0 Nougat
upgrade in
early 2017 when the final software is available, giving no more specificity as far as release date.
While the Galaxy S5 seemed like just an
upgrade of the
earlier Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S6 and S6
Edge truly seem like they were designed from scratch.
That update did begin arriving to carrier branded handsets as
early as January, and Samsung has been
upgrading its most recent lineup of phones, including the 2015 flagships the Galaxy S6 and S6
Edge, from March.
