CAREER
SUMMARY An innovative management
executive with extensive experience working in manufacturing, health care, financial services and
education.
All the key pieces of a strong
executive resume are here: (1) an engaging opening
summary with strategic keywords integrated throughout; (2) a signature achievements section, coupled with more industry buzzwords to help the resume pass through HR's shields (i.e. the applicant tracking systems); (3) a balanced professional experience section with a distinct separation between his tasks and achievements; and (4)
education and engagements sections to close the document with an achievement - focused flair.
For working folks, the sections, or as many of these as apply to your resume, should go in this order:
executive summary, core competencies (no more than 10), work experience,
education, skills, and languages.
Executive resumes should start with a Professional
Summary, a 3 - 8 sentence overview of your career experience, and then proceed to Areas of Strength, Professional Experience, and then
Education.
Instead, use an
executive summary followed by your experience,
education, license and certifications, and volunteer or civic involvement.
Remember that the
executive summary in the Resume Format should emphasize more on experience if the candidate is experienced and more on skills or
education if the candidate is fresher.
Executive resumes should start with a Professional
Summary before listing Professional Experience and
Education.
The hybrid format includes your contact information,
executive summary (we'll talk about that in the next section), achievements / expertise, employment history, and
education in that order.
