nation, as well as some teachers,
parents, student groups and business organizations, lended their official support to the Vergara lawsuit today by filing several amicus curiae or «friend of the court» briefs.
Today's op - ed by American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten, and Stand for Children President Jonah Edelman is a disservice to millions of

nation would be fortunate indeed if the Administration and Congress were to adopt a federal tax credit because it would facilitate access to a quality
education for another 1 million students — most of whom will graduate and go on to college as the body of research into these programs clearly demonstrates.

parents are raising hundreds of thousands — even millions — of dollars to provide additional programs, services, and staff to some of their districts» least needy schools.7 They are investing more money than ever before: A recent study showed that, nationally, PTAs» revenues have almost tripled since the mid-1990s, reaching over $ 425 million in 2010.8 PTAs provide a small but growing slice of the funding for the
nation's public
education system.
Members of
Parents Across America (PAA) are concerned that
education reform in this
nation is going in the wrong direction, and dangerously eroding our children's opportunity to realize their potential and experience a quality
education.
Yet there is still much that Governor Murphy's Department of
Education can do to assuage educators and
parents about accountability embedded in federal law that, after all, is designed to drive the
nation towards more equitable and effective schools.
