Only a very small number of
companies have set long - term (2030 or later) targets which can be considered to be in line with a sectoral 2 °C pathway.282 An analysis of 70 of the world's largest publicly listed corporate emitters,
across the aluminium, cement, chemicals and
electric utilities sectors, found that 21 had targets up to 2020 which could be considered consistent with a 2 °C sectoral pathway, but only 7 had targets to 2030 or later.283 Twenty others had non-2 °C or «irrelevant» targets, and the rest had none at all.
