Other root vegetables like carrot, onion, or radishes, as well as other
greens like arugula, cabbage, celery, scallions, cucumber, fennel,
endive, spinach, and avocado.
Grill the
endive for a few minutes on each side and then grill the
green onions.
However, leafy
greens such as kale, spinach,
endive, romaine, collards, turnip
greens and mustard
greens (just to name a few) are so dense in other nutrients that they should be a focal point of your diet.
If your heart was set on radicchio but it looks wilted or smells past its prime, pick another slightly bitter
green, such as
endive or escarole, instead.
In winter, radicchio,
endive, and escarole make one of my favorite after - dinner salads; these bitter
greens have a marvelous way of making me feel less full after a heavy meal.

Well... I started with your recipe and ad libbed based on what was available at my local market: chopped
endive ends instead of frisee, macadamia nuts crushed and toasted instead of hazelnut (the smell of hazelnut doesn't agree with me), minced scallions /
green onions instead of chives.
Put the lettuce, avocado flesh,
endive (or other
green), lime, ice, water, salt and wasabi in a blender and process until very smooth.
When I saw the rainbow sweet Chioggia beets, I imagined them with juicy mildly acidic blood red oranges, pale

greens for this dish: kale, beet, mustard, dandelion, turnip, spinach, chard, radicchio, arugula,
endive, escarole, and others.
I used mixed
greens with the spinach instead of
endive.
