This reporter employs a tandem array of internal ribosomal entry sites to drive translation of
an enhanced Yellow Fluorescent Protein (Venus) from the transcript that normally encodes for the early endodermal marker Hex.
These mice contain
an Enhanced Yellow Fluorescent Protein gene (EYFP) inserted into the Gt (ROSA) 26Sor locus.
A targeting vector was designed to contain
the Enhanced Yellow Fluorescent Protein gene (from the pEYFP - N1 plasmid, Clonetech) downstream of a loxP - flanked stop sequence (neomycin resistance gene and a trimer of the SV40 polyadenylation sequence).
