PLAN is seeking a student that is inspired to build or develop a
project that is focused on the intersectional framework of
environmental justice movement and broader social
justice work.
At ICC she oversaw a wide range of
environmental justice, community development and community based planning and research
projects in her native Ironbound community in Newark, New Jersey.
The challenge itself was the product of collaboration between thinkMTV and the Campus Climate Challenge, a
project of 30 leading
environmental and social
justice organizations working with hundreds of high schools and colleges to help them make their schools greener.

A coalition of
environmental organizations took their case to the High Court of
Justice, arguing that the public and government bodies should be given at least 90 days to submit comments on the new law (the same amount of time the new law gives the planning system to discuss and approve large construction
projects).
Together, they will take action against the pipeline
project as a reminder that generations of peaceful resistance have won change across Canada, from Indigenous rights, to
environmental protection, to peace activism and social
justice.
In a student impact
project to promote
environmental justice, I worked to obtain prizes from local businesses to give out in a raffle.
Provided assistance in preparing
environmental justice assessments for regional
projects involving minority and low - income demographics.
Current
projects focus on such issues as early childhood development, including child mental health; climate and ocean change; education, including STEM learning;
environmental health; criminal
justice; and immigration.
