The main idea developed in the lesson was how to
use the matrix
multiplication capabilities of the graphing calculator to solve systems of
equations.
These are relatively simple word problems requiring addition, subtraction,
multiplication or division to solve; however, the problems are expressed in terms of a stated variable, and the student is asked to write an
equation using that variable, before solving the problem.
The student will be given an array and asked to write out a
multiplication equation and then
using the commutative property of
multiplication, find an equivalent
multiplication equation.
