During a Reddit AMA last month,
Essential revealed that the Android Oreo
update for the
Essential Phone was under internal testing and that it will be made available as a public beta «within next several weeks».
Unless
Essential pushes out a major software
update between now and when the
phones arrive, anyone who buys one is just going to end up, well, singing the blues.
In the announcement for Android Oreo, they tell us that
Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global, Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp, and Sony are all scheduled to
update some of their
phones to Oreo.
Users can sign up for the
Essential Phone's developer
updates by navigating to the
