In February, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's
European Paintings department mounted a solo show of a female painter for the first time in over four decades.
She was previously a research associate at the Metropolitan Museum in
the European Paintings department from 1999 to 2003; prior to that, Ms. Roldán served as Senior Press Officer for the Metropolitan Museum.
Organized by Met curators Andrea Bayer, of
the European paintings department, and Kelly Baum, of the Modern and contemporary art department, in consultation with Sheena Wagstaff, chairwoman of the Met's Modern and Contemporary art department, the exhibition covers a vast historical range, from the 15th century to the present.

Department of Medieval through Modern

paintings by such artists as El Greco, Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes, and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo.
