Whatever anyone thinks about charter schools or district schools, education reformers or teachers unions, Democrats or Republicans, or any other false choice that has divided our politics and our district, let's stipulate that
everyone on all sides of this debate are good people who care about kids.

So anyway, maybe it is just normal in theological
debate for
everyone on all
sides of an issue to think that the opponents «simply don't understand» (After all, if they understood, they would agree!).
I agree, however, with one point that's sometimes made
on the other
side of this particular
debate, that our main focus in Parliament should be
on issues that affect
everyone, straight or gay.

debate will continue to argue that their solution is best; neither has all the answers, and there isn't much common ground where they can come together, forget their differences, and shake hands
on an amenable solution for
everyone.
I am in favor
of both disclosure
of funding sources and disclosure
of financial conflict
of interest, but it should apply to
everyone and the unclear, inconsistent policies to date should certainly not be used to silence people
on only one
side of a scientific
debate.
