As the Teacher Education Division (TED) of the Council for
Exceptional Children (CEC), the term professional development represents two-fold significance for this organization: (1) as this is an organization whose members are primarily
special education teacher - educators, our constituency are providers of professional development; (2) in order to prepare these
special education teachers and other professionals well, our constituency are also recipients of professional development, as they also require their own professional development.
