Under the order, homeless
shelters would be required to
extend their
hours of operations so that people without
shelter can remain indoors, according to the release.
Students also must write a 4,000 - word research paper, known as the
extended essay, and log at least 150
hours of what is called Creativity, Action, and Service — everything from sports to performing onstage to ladling soup at a homeless
shelter.

shelter is open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and
extended hours till 7 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The second annual 2008 celebration includes over 50 adoption events,
extended adoption
hours at city
shelters and special free and low - cost spaying and neutering promotions in all five boroughs.
Throughout the Home 4 the Holidays campaign, Animal Care & Control of New York City (AC&C)
shelters has
extended its adoption
hours until 7:30 p.m. each day.
The
shelter has also
extended its
hours from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to give all of their cats a better chance at adoption.
