Last month FIA director Charlie Whiting unveiled changes to driver names and numbers on
F1 liveries, in order to make them more recognisable for fans.
Not exact matches
This year's crop of
F1 machines are some of the best looking we've seen in years, in part thanks to the new rules and also a couple of
livery changes too.

The revised
livery comes as a result of a sponsorship agreement with Austrian water technology company BWT, making it the first pink car in
F1 since the 1992 Brabham BT60B as raced by Damon Hill.
There's nothing wrong with a monochrome

liveries than just good or bad ones.
Also whilst it was pretty ugly compared to some of the other
liveries around at the time, if it cropped up on a modern
F1 car it'd probably go down as a classic.

While this Force India
livery might not be their best one ever, the smart maroon, gold and white

There's just one disappointing thing about the Group C /
F1 crossover
liveries... that there aren't more of them!
Ferrari's classic red
livery looks good on any
F1 car, but the F2007 is arguably the most beautiful in recent years.

liveries from motorsport are from the Group C era, and they've now been zapped into the modern age on current
F1 cars.
Group C not only produced a lot of awesome prototype race cars but it also featured some epic
liveries — which look very, very nice on
F1 machinery
This year you'd be excused for thinking that
F1 teams got some kind of bargain on black paint with the amount of monochrome
liveries that are around.
First up, Wright — from his website Get Wright On It (love the name)-- created an X-Wing
livery based on this year's Ferrari
F1 car.
Stuck had a reasonable
F1 career in the 1970s and went on to win Le Mans in 1986 and 87 driving a 962 with the classic Rothmans
livery.
It's fair to say they look absolutely stunning on a current - spec
F1 car, and some — such as the Peugeot 905 Evo 2 — have the aggressive, edgy vibe that modern
liveries lack.

It also just goes to show how awesome Le Mans
liveries from the past are, compared to current
F1 designs and colours.
Martini's white
livery with red / blue stripes has added a touch of glamour and nostalgia to the
F1 grid.
McLaren went all out for its 1997
F1 car launch, with the Spice Girls — at the time, one of the biggest music acts in the world — performing at London's Alexandra Palace for the unveiling of the new MP4 / 12, signalling a new
livery direction with the black and silver West colour scheme.
The Audi to
F1 rumours are constant, it seems there are new murmurings every week or two about the car maker joining the grid in some capacity (and more excuses to use Sean Bull's concept

There's also a revised
livery on the Ferrari for the 2017
F1 season, with some more flashes of white in comparison to last year's machine.
The Swiss outfit also has a brand - new
livery for the up - coming
F1 campaign, ditching yellow in favour of gold, adding more white and retaining the striking blue from past seasons.
Well, with the rule coming into force for this weekend's Spanish GP, several
F1 teams chose to unveil their minor
livery updates on Wednesday and Thursday before the on - track action begins.
It's safe to say the RA107's
livery remains one of the strangest in
F1.

There's only so many times you can see the same old McLaren Marlboro

F1 car but these designs from Sean Bull have been done the other way around.
The FW14B from the 1992 is undoubtedly a fan - favourite, partly because Nigel Mansell drove it to his one and only
F1 title and also because it was a stunning car with a super-classy
livery too.
