This month, we're highlighting the ways in which
the FFP supports the crucial creative collaboration between directors and editors through the Sally Menke Memorial Editing Fellowship and the Editing Intensive, which took place earlier this summer in conjunction with our annual Directors Lab.

support, whether they are in Europe or not.

The Sundance Institute Feature Film Program (
FFP) advances original storytelling from distinctive voices by
supporting independent filmmakers from development through distribution of their feature projects.
The
FFP's work internationally has evolved to other regions and this year, we have held Labs to
support independent filmmakers in India, Turkey, Japan, Europe and the Middle East.
Since 2013, The Ammon Foundation has
supported the education and professional development of emerging independent feature film screenwriters, directors, and producers («Fellows») at five of the
FFP's signature residency programs: Creative Producing Lab, Creative Producing Summit, January Screenwriters Lab, and the Directors and Screenwriters Lab.

Three films
supported by the
FFP are among those screening at the 2015 Cannes International Film Festival: Songs My Brothers Taught Me, written and directed by Chloe Zhao, Mediterranea, written and directed by Jonas Carpignano, and Masaan (Fly Away Solo), co-written by Neeraj Ghaywan and Varun Grover and directed by Neeraj Ghaywan.
Since 1981, the
FFP has
supported an extensive list of leading - edge independent films, including recent notable films such as Damien Chazelle's Whiplash, Malik Vitthal and Ismet Prcic's Imperial Dreams, Ryan Coogler's Fruitvale Station, Ritesh Batra's The Lunchbox, Haifaa Al Mansour's Wadjda, Lucy Alibar and Benh Zeitlin's Beasts of the Southern Wild and Dee Rees» Pariah.
