fall asleep when their head hits the
pillow,» your baby had other ideas, and only wanted to sleep
at your breast!
Let your baby drift off to sleep
at the breast, gently break the latch with your pinky finger, skip the burping, and then let the baby use your breast as a
pillow until he or she
falls into a deeper sleep — then try to put the baby down.
Some exhausted new parents are shocked to find that instead of

I almost always sleep through the night, but
at least a couple times a week I have a really hard time winding down and actually
falling asleep (and it doesn't help that Will is usually asleep and snoring before his head hits the

The Gradual Approach: Start by leaving the crib rail down, with a stool
at the side so she can get out by herself, and some
pillows near the bed in case she
falls out.
A small proportion of our co sleeping deaths are horrible accidents that in retrospect could maybe have been prevented (in this group I include babies who
fall down the gap between the bed and the wall and get wedged and become asphyxiated, or a baby who rolled out of bed and landed head first into a waste paper basket that had been lined with a plastic bag, or a baby who had been put up on the

at the very end of pregnancy and I often find myself using a stack of
pillows to relieve the pressure while I am sleeping, though the
pillows never seem high enough and they often
fall.

at least 30 minutes less sleep than you think, as most people do not
fall asleep as soon as their head hits the
pillow.

Fall and it's not in my nature to not
at least change out a few things for the season, so I cleaned up a little, grabbed some pumpkins and mums while I was
at my local farm the other day, pulled out my
pillows from last year (and a few others from my hoard — it's a problem) and brought some very simple
Fall into the house.
Work is busy, kids require energy, and the dishes and the laundry and the list goes on... and by the time you
fall into bed
at night, you're asleep before your head hits the
pillow.
Favorite things I do to make my
Fall nest are to change out my light
pillow covers to deeper shades, replace the shells that fill my bowls with natural colored balls (not sure what they're called, but I got them
at Michael's and West Elm), replace my light colored candles with deeper hues.

fall, I've added more

at Pottery Barn several weeks ago, since blue and white is my all - time favorite color combination, I am always looking for new ways to incorporate blue in my seasonal decor, and have never thought much of using blues for
fall, but this
pillow pulled all the colors together so well!
