Though falling under the rubric of «hospital - based» treatments
with stabilization and step down
programs to assist individuals and
families, Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy has emerged as an essential part of the hospital's treatment repertoire across all treatment
programs.
The MS Clinical Psychology
program with the Marriage and
Family Therapy concentration (MSCP / MFT), or
with the Marriage and
Family Therapy and Licensed Professional Clinical Counseling concentration (MSCP / MFT / LPCC), is in compliance
with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements for
programs leading to MFT licensure (MSCP / MFT), or to both MFT and LPCC licensure (MSCP / MFT / LPCC).
«As a graduate of the University of Alabama's Marriage and
Family Therapy Masters
program, I have studied and am familiar
with a wide variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques.
The partial hospitalization
program offers services daily from 9:45 am - 2:45 pm,
with five group
therapies each day, and individual and
family therapy each week; length of stay can be from one week to eight weeks, dependent on their psychiatric needs.
A
family based
program open to children and teenagers from 7 - 17, Cool Kids utilises Cognitive Behaviour
Therapy and provides children
with skills and strategies to help them manage their anxiety in a variety of settings.
However, individual
therapy sessions certainly can facilitate compliance
with an overall
program that emphasizes changes in the
family, the school, and in social settings.
Research - based practices are a cornerstone of her work
with children,
families and couples, including: Gottman Method Couples
Therapy, Triple P: Positive Parenting
Program, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (TF - CGT, for children having experienced trauma), and Parent - Child Interactive
Therapy (PCIT).
