algorithm meant you'd sometimes see days - old posts at the top of your
feed.
We're not going to dive into an in - depth analysis of the
algorithm here, but we will briefly touch on what the News
Feed algorithm is
meant to do.
That absence
means there's nowhere to go if users are
fed up with Instagram's
algorithm or other issues.
Over the last several months Facebook has begun to place a huge emphasis on video content in their news
feed algorithm which
means more organic reach and growth for marketers.
I
mean, I don't love all of it (please lose the
algorithms and bring back time - based
feeds Instagram and Facebook!)
In all seriousness, a photo of a cup of coffee can actually be beautifully styled with glimpses of your jewelry, bag and heels, but my point is that those «filler» photos that people were using so much of to create a pretty
feed may not work as well with the
algorithm change because they typically get fewer likes which
means your next photo may not pop up in as many of your followers»
feeds.
Facebook is tweaking its News
Feed algorithm to prioritize posts that come from users» family and friends, which
means you'll soon see more posts from actual people like your cousins or your college roommates.
This
means that the
algorithm feed can learn to avoid showing content that the user may not like.
Contrary to expectations the social network never gave Instant Articles higher prominence in the News
Feed algorithm, which
meant publishers basically had the choice between more - difficult - to - monetize - but - faster - to - load Instant Articles or easier - to - monetize - and - aren't - our - resources - better - spent - fixing - our - web - page?
