And while the chances are slim to none that Phillips will ever call Wiseau to
star in his Joker movie,
at least Wiseau can look
at this cleverly crafted fan trailer and
feel like he's in it.
Curiously, other features
like the collection of
stars doesn't seem to impact the end result of a run (
at least not significantly), making the game
feel incomplete
at this time.
Clearly, the fault isn't in the
stars but in a storyline that focuses on Greg
at the expense of two equally interesting characters who often
feel more
like moons circling Greg's planet than fully defined people in their own right.
The movie is a knowingly gargantuan Marvel mashup, so jam - packed with embattled uber saviors that you may
feel,
at times,
like all that's missing is Dwayne Johnson, Jesus Christ, and the cast of the last two «
Star Wars» films.
Judging by what I've seen so far, I
like the look and
feel of the movie, and if you're looking
at the Oscar chart, Nebraska «s small scale currently makes it a stand - out among the big,
star - studded dramas.
They could create new creatures and amaze with effects, be they practical or elaborate CGI, and they could give us new versions of beloved archetypes, but after The Force Awakens re-hashed Episode IV and Rogue One couldn't stop winking
at what came before, it
felt like maybe
Star Wars had gone as far as it could, and we would spend the rest of forever treading over the same ground.
Every element is stretched as far as it can possibly go, including a sequence
at a casino that
feels like it belongs in a «Harry Potter» or «Fantastic Beasts» film rather than a modern - day «
Star Wars» chapter.
The actor's ability to poke fun
at herself while
starring in a tentpole film
like «Ready Player One» is part of what makes Cooke's success
feel so genuine.
On the other hand, its bouts of lurid violence and voyeuristic sex
feel as if they've been dragged in from somewhere trashier,
like the Taken films or something with Sylvester Stallone in it.Jennifer plays Dominika Egorova, formerly a

A stark, brutal, yet tender prison drama

feel like he's bottled up a hurricane of tension, which

But reviving the film is not a bad idea from a sociohistorical perspective: Humbled by the previous decade's grotesque materialism, Nineties filmmakers generally
felt like they were living down the Eighties and made a concerted effort to protect their product from dating itself *, but Reality Bites, with its Hughesian affectations,
at least strives to be seminal — only Cameron Crowe's Singles, the Brady Bunch movies (which
star Stiller's future wife, Christine Taylor), and the excrescent Empire Records so unabashedly embrace their pre-Internet moment.
I'd also say that I'd
like to see the new Alexander Payne film
at Cannes (The Descendants), but given that it
stars George Clooney, they may not
feel the need to take it to such an arty festival.
I've never seen the 1981 movie,
starring legendary comedian Dudley Moore, but I can tell you that I
liked the casting of Russel Brand and Helen Mirren in the leading roles here, even if the story
feels awfully uneven
at times.

feels like the film - version of I Am Legend that filmmakers have struggled with
at least three times and all failed in somewhat interesting ways (The best of which, The Last Man On Earth,
