FLORENCE, Italy — The new chief executive of the Salvatore
Ferragamo luxury leather goods and fashion house says the prospect of a possible new tax on imports into the US won't deter his growth strategy in the country.
One imagines they should be something that would happily sit alongside other Italian
luxury houses like Bottega Veneta and Tod's — renowned for their superior
leather goods — but perhaps
Ferragamo's Fulvio Rigoni hasn't got there just yet.
One of
luxury's most established players, the Salvatore
Ferragamo brand specialises in measured elegance, selling footwear,
leather goods, clothing, silk products,
leather accessories and fragrances for men and women, all of which are made in Italy.
