If anyone is still dreaming that all of the state's
problems will be solved with a drive - by casino, legalized marijuana and a
few highway toll
cameras, they need to wake up.
There isn't quite enough content, the
camera does seem to be a bigger
problem than in past entries, and I miss a
few of the more unique modes found in other titles, but there's no denying it: this is Katamari and the fans should really enjoy it.
If the
Camera, Frame Rate and UI
problems were fixed, as well as the weapon balancing and a
few other things there'd be a wholly likeable game here but as it stands there's just not alot to like about it...
Ubisoft haven't gone through the game and removed the bugs and
problems though, and the result in the occasional frustrating moment with the
camera, AI that get stuck and a
few other little things as well.
There's also a very noticeable lack of detail on characters and in the environment, along with quite a
few problems and glitches such as bits of the environment, and sometimes enemies, popping into existence, NPCs sitting in mid-air and the
camera occasionally dipping underneath the ground during combat.
The
camera has a hard time following you and feels unresponsive at times, which can cause quite a
few problems.
I did have
problems with the
camera shaking on me quite violently on a
few occasions, which did not show up in my game feed.
One of the
few real negative points in Type - 0 was its
camera, and while it wasn't perfect in this build of the HD version, the
problem is immediately significantly remedied by control of the
camera now being mapped to the right stick — something that of course wasn't possible on the PSP.
There are a
few variations to
camera control in the options menu, but none of them seemed to fix these very basic
problems.
While color balance is generally top - notch we noticed some issues with the white balance being off at times right after launching the
camera — it rights itself after a
few seconds, but it's a
problem if you're trying to catch that fleeting moment.
There were a
few of our shots that came out pretty well, but at the end of the day, the X4's
camera simply wasn't consistent, and that's a
problem.
Because, out of the box, in Lenovo UI mode, there seem to be quite a
few problems because of poorly optimized bloatware — Only 1.3 gb (out of 3 gb) RAM left to the user, only 22 gb of available internal storage (and no microsd slot) and overheating
problems especially when using the
camera app after just 10 minutes etc..
