The blastocyst, which contains approximately 150 cells, is made up of three
main parts: the blastocoel (an internal, fluid -
filled cavity), the inner cell mass (ICM), and the trophoblast.
Each bud pretty much
fills the concha (yes, we had to look up the word for the
main cavity in the external ear) and protrudes slightly, so they are very apparent in use.
