LOS ANGELES, CA — Otis College of
Art and Design's
Fine Arts Department presents a public
lecture by its 2016 - 2017 Critic - in - Residence, Andrea Zittel.
The grand opening celebration of the largest expansion project in the history of the Virginia Museum of
Fine Arts will be Saturday and Sunday, May 1 and 2, with an array of free special events and activities, including a ribbon cutting, Tibetan Monks creating a sand mandala, exhibitions,
lectures, artist demonstrations, music, dance demonstrations, refreshments, highlights tours and family
art activities.
In 2003 she received a Fulbright Fellowship to study at The National Academy of
Fine Arts in Oslo, and continues to
lecture and teach master classes at distinguished institutions nationwide.
Hosted by the Foundation, the
lecture was followed by a discussion led by Robert Slifkin, Ph.D., Associate Professor of
Fine Arts, NYU.
Kannemeyer obtained an MA in
Fine Arts at the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) in 1997 and
lectured at three different universities until he resigned as senior lecturer in 2006.
