Having a butterfly mind is part and parcel of being a short - form writer, as I am, churning out short
stories,
flash fiction, blog posts and journalism, never dwelling on any one project
for long.
It is still less likely to be read, because people are mostly skimming blogs
for information, but there's been growth in the «
story blog» recently, so if you have
flash fiction you don't intend to send to contests or journals, it's okay to put it on your blog.

If I could get going a little earlier, I'd start looking at the
flash fiction,
flash memoir, and potential
for longer
stories in this eclectic collection I'm building.

flash fiction, and all the short
stories I've read are longer than this, but my attempts to emulate the genre have left me with new respect
for those who write it and do it well.

flash fiction stories are told through such seemingly mundane methods as a magazine quiz, a survey questionnaire, acknowledgments to a scholarly biography.

I'd experimented with different kinds of
stories, done some prose and those other «rhyme - y kind» of poems, and
for a period of time even tried to write as short a
story as possible... and this was before anything called «
flash fiction.»
