That was the dilemma after praying and seeking the Lord he shows me a couple of things one is God calls the shots not satan satans demons bow to Gods authority and must get his permission so they beg Jesus to send the demons into the pigs.Jesus allows it so we can see satans purpose is always to destroy life.God is still the same yesterday today and forever he is the giver of life.We do know that the pigs were owned by the gentile nations and may well have been offered or about to be offered to there gods which would mean they would belong to satan.Like the example Jesus said about taxes should he pay them and he said give to caesar what is caesars.Or the other option was that it showed Gods mercy to the man that had been healed by delivering him of the demons and he was also protecting the people in the area from the influence of the demons.So God is still the same he is unchangeable and definitely not bipolar.I would say if anyone was bipolar in this situation it is David and he like us struggled with the same choice to walk according to the flesh or walk according to the spirit of God.brentnz

Keith the verse go and sin no more is a choice the choice is the giver of life Jesus or go and sin no more change the word sin for death.Its our hearts it chooses to sin because it likes to sin thats our nature and the word is clear that our hearts are deceitfully wicked.How do we overcome by admitting our weakness and asking the holy spirit to help us.That is how i have been able to break sins over my life personally i am powerless in the flesh and i freely admit that but i have the spirit of God at work in my life who is able to raise me above my weakness in him.He empowers us to do that so when you feel weak tell the Lord and ask the holy spirit to help you.The more you rely on the holy spirit the more you walk in the spirit and the less influence sin has over you.brentnz

I have had a change of heart on this and i believe that jesus means what he says for us to go and sin no more.Why because the women caught in adultery is us it is a universal message for us sinners judged and condemned by the law if we do nt want to be under the law then the only way is to follow jesus but not according to the flesh but according to the spirit.Because if we walk in the spirit we will not gratify the desires of the flesh.Which means we will not sin that sums up the message once having been saved by jesus we follow him and walk by the spirit the message is clear and he provides the means for us to do it through his holy spirit.For sin shall not have dominion over us we are more than conquerers overcomers through Jesus Christ.

I pretty much agreed with most of what you have said and i think that the sinners prayer has been misused as a get out of Jail free card.A couple of things that people miss is that God is in charge.As soon as you offer yourself to God and accept Jesus Chris the holy spirit has liberty to work on you.Because he loves us he will discipline us so that we do repent of our sins.The downside of living a walk like that you are a hypocrite until you admit your sinfulness the holy spirit can not help us because of our pride.The second part was you talking about disciplining the flesh personally you cant discipline that which is corrupt our hearts are deceitfully wicked we need new hearts no amount of effort on our part will transform our hearts that is the work of the holy spirit he changes our hearts so that we no longer desire to sin we would rather serve the Lord with all our hearts instead.brentnz

where the struggle is in regards to Jesus» will and Gods will being done is I believe, In Jesus flesh struggling to keep up with the Spirit if you know what I mean... Jesus never asked to be saved John 12:27 but He prayed for strength as His soul was sorrowful even unto death...
