Overall there are still some decent

flights using Avios but, once again, British Airways has removed one of the biggest sweet spots in their award chart and that doesn't endear them to me any more.
So, given that you have limited options to use your Alaska miles for things other than free
flights, and if we assume you don't want to travel more, I think TSA PreCheck is a good
redemption.
Many of their
redemptions are very high, they don't publish an award chart, and their dynamic pricing makes searching for
flights a huge headache sometimes.
More than that, the airline's frequent flyer program, Asiana Club, offers solid award
redemptions on both Asiana and partner
flights, making this card a good option for just about anyone, even if you don't fly Asiana.
You could move them to United Airlines and find several good
redemption opportunities, and British Airways works well for short, domestic
flights that don't have carrier surcharges.
So don't
do the transfer thinking you might one day book the
flights — because the Virgin / ANA
redemption could change or go away.
Typically I don't suggest redeeming Alaska Mileage Plan miles for domestic
flights as you can get a lot better value out of international
redemptions.

do have to be more flexible with your travel plans as not all
flights will have award space for

redemption charts they use don't care about making connections or if I leave from the East Coast vs. West Coast, so I can add extra
flights if it means finding those with the best award space.

flight, requiring 9,600 B6 Trueblue Points it would take 12,000 MR. 12,000 MR for $ 140
flight (plus about $ 10 in fees) would only work out to a 1.1 cent
redemption — so I'm not 100 % sure I'll use Jetblue all that often, but it could help as part of a hybrid system booking for me (LAX - PDX, or LAX - SEA) and for that reason I'll be keeping an eye on it, and I
do think you should too.

redemption) would cost $ 295, but net me just 2,264 MQM and 4,528 Skymiles.
What you don't see on this list — using Avios for transatlantic
flights on British Airways or on non-flight
redemptions such as hotels and cars — are the options you generally want to avoid.
Hopefully that change doesn't also get matched by the British Airways version of the program, especially since you can move points from Iberia to BA to make those
redemptions with the arbitrage then saving on fuel surcharges (just as the reverse version of arbitrage can be used to save on fuel surcharges when redeeming for Iberia
flights).
