The exercise I have been
doing is walking my
dog twice aday, this I thought I could handle but recently I've noticed after my evening walk I get «
flu like symptoms» with mild muscle pain, fatigue etc, clearly too much for my damaged system
to handle, but there is no way around this routine, my
dog still needs his walks.
To keep your pooch safe this
flu season, don't let him share his toys with other
dogs at doggie day care or the
dog park.
Though
dogs don't have any natural immunity
to the bug, the good news is that most pups who contract the
flu will usually only have a mild version.
I wasn't really sure if that was a lot until I tracked down CIV - infection data from Cornell University (which I
did include in the article and admittedly was hiding in some distant Internet nook), and according
to Cornell, in the 10 years leading up
to March 2015 there were a maximum of 2,300 confirmed cases of
dog flu in the United States.

dog flu reported in Florida, it is important
to be aware of this infection and what you can
do to keep your animals safe and healthy.

dog that
does the following: kennels,
dog shows, goes
to the groomer, goes
to the
dog park or obedience lessons.
UPDATE: Well, as of recently, there doesn't seem
to be a dangerous outbreak of
dog flu as predicted.

to find out the
dogs had more than the
flu?

dog to get the new H3N2
flu, don't take him where other
dogs gather.
The vaccine
does not work if your
dog is already exposed
to the
flu and must have a second booster one
to two weeks after the first shot is given before it becomes effective.

dogs can spread the disease if they don't take precautions

The so - called Chicago
dog flu has nothing
to do with Chicago, except that this strain, called H3N2, began in Chicago (in the U.S.) and is now living in the environment (it's endemic in the Windy City), but
dog flu, also known as canine influenza virus (CIV), is all over the country.
This means that your pet
does not have
to come in direct contact with an infected animal
to become infected, it just has
to be in the same place (I.E a
dog park or sniff the same mailbox) within two days of that
flu - positive
dog.

dog is sick, veterinarians have attempted
to treat canine
flu using human anti-viral medications, but they don't seem
to have much affect.
