We sat down to talk about her interest in collecting and photography, and hear more about her most recent project: a solo exhibition at the Foam Photography Museum in Amsterdam.

FOAM PAUL HUF AWARD The Foam Paul Huf Award, which is awarded annually to talented international photographers under the age of 35, includes a cash prize of $ 20,000 and an exhibition at Foam Photography Museum Amsterdam.

Her work was shown at last month's Frieze fair, at Foam photography museum in Amsterdam in 2012 after she was awarded the Paul Huf Award, and at New York's Museum of Modern Art as part of New Photography 2010.

Her solo exhibitions took place, among others, in Foam Photography Museum Amsterdam, Kunstverein Konstanz and Kunstverein Bochum.

Artists are rising to the challenges of dealing with this theme, and the continued development of photography into new directions as a result of this is now being explored in Under Construction, a collaboration between Foam Photography Museum in Amsterdam and the Pioneer Works Center for Art and Innovation, showing at Pioneer Works, New York.

Solo exhibitions of Sassen's work have taken place at FORMA in Milan, Huis Marseille Museum for Photography in Amsterdam, and FOAM in Amsterdam, among other venues.

In today's hyper - visual world the concept of image fatigue is familiar and often debated, and it's something that Foam, whose mission statement is «All about photography», challenges with the variety of its programmes, exhibitions, publications and events: «We present diverse forms of photography and we usually have four exhibitions at a time in our museum.»

In 2007 «Helen Levitt: Un Art de l'accident poetique» opened at the Fondation Henri Cartier - Bresson in Paris; in 2008, the Sprengel Museum, Hannover, Germany chose Ms. Levitt as the recipient for the Spectrum International Photography Prize which was accompanied by a major retrospective; and FOAM Museum Amsterdam, mounted another major retrospective in October, 2008.
