Thirty - five prestigious museums have hosted its major exhibitions or included artworks from its
collection, including the traveling show currently presented at the American
Folk Art Museum, Fever Within: The
Art of Ronald Lockett produced by the Ackland Museum of
Art at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Along with familiar works from the
collection, the installation will include objects on loan from other institutions, such as historical Native American
art,
folk art, furniture, and
art from other regions and time periods to encourage a more textured narrative about the first centuries of US

To showcase these new acquisitions, the Museum will increase the physical footprint of the

Pippin, who took up painting after losing the use of his right arm (he was shot in the shoulder during active service in the First World War) trod a line between modernist and
folk art traditions: «The painting will serve as a bridge within the broader American
