McCarthy has aptly defined Pig Island as a «sculpture machine,» and indeed like a living organism, Pig Island has been through different incarnations (a particularly convincing rendition was the one exhibited at Fondazione Nicola Trussardi last year), and has generated a series of parallel pieces, such as Train, Mechanical (2003 - 2009), a controversial double portrait of George W. Bush spookily rotating his head in circumspection while rhythmically sodomizing two pigs.

With Pipilott Rist's Parasimpatico, the Fondazione Nicola Trussardi continues its concept of rediscovering forgotten places and hidden treasures in the heart of the city of Milan and bringing them back to life through contemporary art.

The Fondazione Nicola Trussardi show is a precious opportunity to discover the work of one of the greatest figures in contemporary art, presented in an extraordinary setting that has been left in its unfinished state.

For her latest project for Fondazione Nicola Trussardi she uses the interior of the historic Cinema Manzoni in Milan, Italy as surface for her video projections.

Fondazione Nicola Trussardi has invited the legendary American artist Paul McCarthy to conceive a project for Palazzo Citterio — one of the most unusual places in the city of Milan, located right in the city's historical center on Via Brera, yet unknown to the public, as it has been closed for over 25 years, reopened thanks to the collaboration of Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici e per il Paesaggio di Milano.

For the exhibition with Fondazione Nicola Trussardi, Paul McCarthy presents one of his most complex and ambitious works, Pig Island, a giant sculpture that grew in the artist's studio to fill over 100 square meters with a surreal anthology of the themes that have cropped up throughout his career.

Pig Island is a work - in - progress that Paul McCarthy has been developing for over seven years, and which will make its world debut at Palazzo Citterio with Fondazione Nicola Trussardi.

From May 20 to July 4, 2010, Fondazione Nicola Trussardi presents Pig Island, the first major solo show in an Italian institution by Paul McCarthy.

This observation inspired the title for her exhibition with the Fondazione Nicola Trussardi, Parasimpatico: with her usual touch of humor, Pipilotti Rist is referring to the division of the nervous system that governs the body's involuntary functions, such as digestion, relaxation, rest and energy storage.

Khaled Jarrar's critically acclaimed film Infiltrators (2012) is included in «La Terra Inquieta / The Restless Earth», a collective exhibition co-organised by the Fondazione Nicola Trussardi and Fondazione La Triennale di Milano.

When members of the Road Runners Club Milano ran through the Fondazione Nicola Trussardi in Milan, as part of a Martin Creed show there, the Gazzetta dello Sport gave Creed's work a respectful review, and compared the work to the attempt at the world record time for running through the Louvre museum in Jean - Luc Godard's 1964 movie Bande à Part.

Both works were commissioned and produced by the Fondazione Nicola Trussardi in 2009, with shots taken by Tacita Dean in the flat in Bologna in which Morandi lived and worked for much of his life, now the Casa Morandi, and in particular in the spaces of his studio, reconstructed in their original location.
