here, and features dozens of delicious recipes that emphasize healthy, fresh, and organic ingredients, and
food made to satisfy the soul as well as the stomach.
But more than loving it, I miss it dearly — Roanoke has nothing on Soul Veg (and by nothing I mean nothing, there's no semblance of vegan soul
food here, just that hippy - granola - healthy stuff, which is good... but you know...) Back in the day there used to be a
cookbook based off their recipes and one of my friends managed to get a copy — I've never seen or heard of another one out there, so who knows the story.
I recently got my hands on a copy of Lauren Toyota's Hot for
Food cookbook which you can find
here.
If you're new around
here, our family eats mostly vegetarian meals with a focus on plants and real
foods which is exactly what this
cookbook offers.
As promised,

I'd highly suggest Alton Brown's television show and
cookbook «I'm just
here for the
food» because his
cookbook is filled with technique and interesting information as well as recipes that he will lay out step by step.
He has a
cookbook out called «I'm Just
Here For The
Food» and although I have not yet read it, from the reviews on Amazon.com, it is apparently appropriate for the novice cook.
