Before joining the Center
for Urban Teaching in July 2008, Kole served as superintendent from 2004 to 2008 at HOPE Christian Schools, where he led the expansion of HOPE from one campus with 50 students in 2004 to three campuses and more than 500 students in 2008.
From 2008 - 2010, Kole was the Director for Wisconsin Lutheran's Center
for Urban Teaching, training future teachers and school leaders to be successful in Milwaukee's urban schools.
All new teachers will be supported throughout the year by a mentor teacher and an instructional coach, and participate in the Seton Teacher Academy, a monthly gathering to learn and practice key skills presented in partnership with the Center
for Urban Teaching.
Many of our school leaders have, or are currently participating in, leadership development programs with the Center
For Urban Teaching in Milwaukee.
Teachers in the Semester Corps will participate in school and network professional development, including our monthly Seton Teacher Academy presented in partnership with the Center
for Urban Teaching.
Edie moved back to Milwaukee in 2009 to assume another leadership position as Director of Coaching for the Center
for Urban Teaching.
Previously, Castenzio was the Director of Teacher Development at the Center
for Urban Teaching (CfUT) in Milwaukee, WI, where he served as a resource for aspiring urban teacher candidates and beginning teachers, equipping them with the training necessary to be highly effective in the urban classroom.
