It makes
for frustrating
driving experience overall when left to its own devices in
Normal or Eco mode,
though Sport mode does liven things up a bit.
It's very much a Mr Hyde to the more
normal Dr Jekyll-esque Lexus
though as,
for the most part, a Lexus is a comfortable car to
drive rather than a dynamic one.
On
normal roads with the recommended
driving aids left on, there's very little that meaningfully differentiates the drivetrain setups (most of the changes come down to the engine characteristics than anything else),
though — if you really need the extra traction that comes with having power sent to all four wheels — you'll have to wave goodbye to the four - cylinder's economy benefits and go
for one of the six - cylinder options.
For normal road
driving, these vehicles are shifted into 2WD mode, preventing damage to the transfer case;
though full - time systems can not go to 2WD mode.
