That excuse is no longer valid with
Fortnite cross-play between PS4, PC, Mac, and
mobile, but it's not clear why Sony, Epic Games, or Microsoft isn't
supporting PS4 vs. Xbox One.
The
mobile version of
Fortnite: Battle Royale is the same exact game you'll see on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and even
supports cross-platform play with those versions.
So while
Fortnite will ultimately
support cross-play with those platforms, you might want to stick to
mobile - only matches at the start.
On top of all this,
Fortnite supports cross-platform which means that PS4, Xbox, PC and even
mobile players can play with one another.
A couple of days ago we heard that
Fortnite was expanding its reach to
mobiles with iOS and Android
support, and planning to allow opt - in cross-play between
mobile devices and consoles.
Fortnite iOS does
support cross-platform play, but by default
mobile players will be matched with other
mobile players.
As such, many players are wondering if
Fortnite Mobile has controller
support.
Currently,
Fortnite Mobile has no
support for Bluetooth controllers.
We'll be sure to update this post once controller
support is officially announced for
Fortnite Mobile.
However, when checking out the brief FAQ section for
Fortnite Mobile over on Epic Games» site, the development team did share that «Bluetooth controller
support is coming later.»
Fortnite Battle Royale on
mobile will
support cross-play and cross-progression between the PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and eventually the Android versions of the game — meaning you'll be able to play with and against players from other platforms and team up with friends across devices.
Fortnite on
mobile, while not yet available on Android,
supports cross-platform play, connecting you to matches against players on PC and Xbox One.
