We need local drivers
to move dogs and
cats out of BARC and
take them
to the
vet,
foster homes, and transport locations.
When a new stray comes into our care, our intake team notifies potential
foster homes and the
cats are
taken to City
Cat Vets for immediate
vet care — an exam, FeLV / FIV testing, spay / neuter, vaccinations, and parasite treatment.
Make a great outlet for
fosters (they can
take foster cats to a store or
vet clinic
to find a new home instead of returning them
to the shelter)
Before
taking your new companion home, you and the
foster home will sign the Animal Rescue & Care Fund contract, which stipulates (among other things) that you will
take your new pet
to the
vet at least once per year, will not declaw (for
cats), will return the pet
to us if for any reason you can no longer
take care of it, and that all other pets in your family are neutered or spayed.
I use my own money
to support the dogs and
cats I
take back and forth
to the
vet, then
foster them until well enough for adoption.
Foster homes need
to attend one of our weekly Adoption Showcases in Fremont or Saratoga and be able
to take their
foster dog or
cat to one of our partnering
vets in Fremont, Milpitas, Campbell, Mt. View, San Jose, and Los Altos.
We want
to thank everyone who made this possible: our administrative team, our intake team, our transport team who spent hours organizing and driving these babies,
foster homes who are
taking care of multiple
cats and McAfee Animal Hospital in Valparaiso, Indiana who with 2 day's notice got us in for a marathon
vetting of 23
cats in 24 hours.
