foundation's core initiatives include the long - running Sharjah Biennial, featuring
contemporary artists from around the world; the annual March Meeting, a convening
of international
arts professionals and artists; grants and residencies for artists,
curators, and cultural producers; ambitious and experimental commissions; and a range
of traveling exhibitions and scholarly publications.
Kathryn Kanjo returned to the Museum
of Contemporary Art San Diego in 2010 as Chief
Curator and Head of Curatorial after nearly two decades across the country as curator and director in museums including Portland Art Museum and University Art Museum at the University of California Santa Barbara, as well as the artist residency program Artpace in San Antonio where she helped turn the formerly private foundation into a public charity that went on to feature over 70 on - site specific works by a
