As you check out the
graph above, think of plasma glucose as something you'd get from a gel or sports drink or
bar (or from the breakdown of protein); plasma
free fatty acids as something you'd get from breaking down your own fat tissue, or from a dietary source of fat; muscle triglycerides as stored fat in muscle (or perhaps from an external source like coconut oil, if that's your fuel of choice), and muscle glycogen as your body's storage carbohydrate.
