language at university.
On each domino put the
French and then the English word (or any other
language for that matter), mix them up and hand them out to
students and then they have to match them out.

Many of these schools had higher proportions of
students living in challenging circumstances: high poverty and low parent education, or high numbers of
students whose first
language was neither English nor
French and who were struggling with academic
language proficiency.

These resources teach
students to understand a
French language CV and to produce one of their own.
Please model with
students by challenging them to memorise a sentence, make it longer and longer each lesson... they get seriously involved!!!! Examples in
French and Spanish but concept is applicable to any
language.
It is a challenge to remain in the target
language, but I do stick to
French, and use many tools to support my
students.
I also keep favourite links on a class wiki where
students can find them readily, including on - line dictionaries (for both standard
French and for Canadian
French in this case), on - line
language tools (like CAVILAM in Vichy), and videos any of us have found and want to share.
In Karuta the
students put the English
language cards to one side and spread out the
French cards in front of them.
The prompt cards feature
language and structures that your
students are likely to meet in both the earlier and more intermediate stages of their
French learning, and include some PASSÉ COMPOSÉ phrases, both with ÊTRE and AVOIR.
