Another thing that has been kept under wraps is whether the
tablet will run the latest Android 2.2
Froyo right
out of the box or will it follow the more usual method
of pre-installing the
tablet with an earlier version following by providing them with the upgrade version later on.
In fact, most
of the
tablets that were on display at the IFA were based on the Android 2.2
Froyo while almost every other day we come across news
of new
tablet launches having the Android as the OS either in its earlier iteration that would eventually lead to
Froyo, or
Froyo right
out of the box as is the case now.
At least, that's what is being made
out of the next iteration
of the open source Android OS whose current version, the Android 2.2
Froyo isn't suited to deliver optimum performance in a
tablet device as its real forte is with smartphones.
However, everything is being kept under wraps as
of now with the only few aspects
of the upcoming
tablet that has pilfered
out are this: the
tablet will be in the 7 inch category and will run Android 2.2
Froyo.
However, those who'd like to buy the
Froyo tablet will have to shell
out S$ 538 that comes bundled with a S$ 39 a month data plan which offers 12 GB
of data usage along with 100 minutes
of talk time.
However,
out of the box, the
tablet will run Android 2.0 with the option to upgrade to the
Froyo at a later date.

tablet was one
of the most popular Android
tablets in 2010 and had initially started
out with Android 2.2
Froyo.
All the Ziio 7
tablets now being shipped in Europe and Asia feature Android 2.2
Froyo right
out of the box.
The galaxy tab will be a sucess because it's coming
out around the holiday season, I've read alot
of remarks that
froyo is not truly intended for
tablets which is true but many people are missing the point here; this is a hybrid
tablet more or less & its being produced exactly as such... that is the reason all four carriers jumped aboard... convience, convience, convience is the selling point & u hav to applaud samsung for trying, be honest a dell streak (5 inches / phone capabilities) or a samsung tab (7 inches / phone capabilities)... Get the point???
The 10.1 - inch
tablet boast all kinds
of connectivity options (including a USB port capable
of charging devices), a full - size SD card slot, and Android 2.2
Froyo out of the box.
