I made these for lunch, substituting gluten - free
oats for the bread crumbs, because I didn't have any
GF bread crumbs.
It also doesn't mention that some celiacs can't eat
oats at all, even
gf ones, so they should be removed from the diet entirely and then reintroduced carefully when the person's GI issues are under control to see if they are OK.
The topping
does call for
oats though — you can either use very pricey certified
GF oats, but I also bet that quinoa flakes would work just fine here.
At least I know if I

I didn't have any almonds to make flour or meal so I just used grinded up
oats (not
GF anymore..

oats in my pantry and was wondering what to
do with them except for making

did feel that the pecans and
GF certified
oats on top were so essential.
After giving him the
gf oats, we noticed SOME negative change in behavior but didn't think much of it, however after the third day of eating the
gf oats he was back into full blown meltdown mode / aggressive behaviors.
Maybe it's because I didn't use

I'm not totally sure, since I'm not an expert on gluten - free, but I
did a little research and it seems that most
oats are indeed
GF!
I have
GF friends who react to the
GF oats; a lot less than the regular, but for those really sensitive types, it
does happen.
Luckily, most
GF cookbooks don't use
oats as an ingredient and I'm relying heavily on those these days.
