Tecmo - Koei games announced the next game in the Ninja
Gaiden series will actually be created
by none - other than Keiji Inafune (Mega Man & Dead Rising).
One of the most surprising moments at Nintendo's recent E3 press conference was the announcement of Metroid: Other M, a game being made
by Tecmo's Team Ninja, known for their work on the Dead of Alive and Ninja
Gaiden franchises.
The game also featuers a soundtrack
by Keiji Yamagishi, legendary composer for Ninja
Gaiden (NES), Tecmo Super Bowl, Dynasty Warriors, and numerous other classic games.
Speaking to Dengeki Online and translated
by Gemtsu, studio lead Yosuke Hayashi said the project is one of two internally developed projects, the second being Yaiba: Ninja
Gaiden Z.
Back in 2008, just before the release of Ninja
Gaiden II, Itagaki announced that he was leaving and suing Tecmo due to what he described as «unpaid completion bonuses» that he claimed was promised to him
by Tecmo brass for finishing Dead or Alive 4.
