Well you must understand that the guy that review it is a Fan of the series.This is the way games should be reviewed, by someone that haves knowledge of previous games from the series.The 3/10 could be seen has harsh review by somepeople but for me a fan of NG from the

This is just coming from a guy who has tried to «ironman» different games, especially older ones like Castlevania (
NES), Ninja
Gaiden (
NES), Contra (
NES), Metal Slug (AC) where «boredom» isn't really an issue.
Although the series began its life in the arcades, that version of Ninja
Gaiden was an arcade brawler, bearing little resemblance to the
NES original.
Originally released in 2004 for the Xbox, the first iteration of Ninja
Gaiden was a highly successful 3D reboot of the old
NES series of the same name, which has received several upgraded releases over the years in the form of Ninja
Gaiden Black for Xbox, and a more significant enhanced port to the PlayStation 3 called Ninja
Gaiden Sigma.
Andrew: I'll always have a soft spot for the
NES trilogy, but there's no denying just how great the 2004 update of Ninja
Gaiden is on the original Xbox.
These traditions continued with Ninja
Gaiden II and III, both also released on the

The two heroes of that game were replaced with Ryu Hayabusa, the introduction, otherwise nearly identical to Natsume's
NES game, got an unrelated sentence like «Jaquio has not yet been awakened» attached, to «connect» its storyline with the other games, and finished was the new Ninja

Gaiden Trilogy, licensing was all that kept the series alive.
When the fight with Scott Pilgrim and Evil Ex, Roxie, was a giant reference to the original Ninja

Beat the rat guards without the poison and the boss is easily beatable, but the shear luck / pixel perfect swings required to down them before they inflict poison on you is akin to learning the pixel perfect timing and reflexes in games like Ninja
Gaiden on the
NES or Through the Fire and the Flames on Guitar Hero 3.

Gaiden and Strider, is an entirely different game.
Other than the bonus game, though, Ninja
Gaiden Black is superior to its predecessor in every aspect, and if you're going to play Ninja
Gaiden on your Xbox, the only reason to throw in the old disc really is to play the classic
NES games.
This second run of

The game tries to be a lot more serious, and fails miserably at it by using the same plot elements we've seen dozens of times already on
NES with games like Ninja
Gaiden.
