In my own journey, maintaining my cred with student developers helped keep me continually learning and pushing myself while I was an active part of
the Game Creation Society.
In 2007, on my way out of Carnegie Mellon's
Game Creation Society, I wrote The Young Videogame Developer's Journal as a way to leave behind some of the lessons that I learned from my previous decade of making homebrew videogames.
My friend Tuscan Knox used Fruity Loops to make excellent soundtracks for Rowdy Rollerz, Saturn Storm, Shotgun Debugger, Dragon of Shiuliang, and a handful of other games developed by
the Game Creation Society.

I first put similar processes in place when cofounding
the Game Creation Society at Carnegie Mellon («1.0» of the system) in 2004 and founding VGDev at Georgia Tech (a «2.0» iteration) in 2010.
