It's been in development since Sun and Moon, but that isn't much of comfort because
Game Freak has just had a
really rough time overall transitioning to 3D, and now they want to do the HD jump in 2 years when taking 3 years to do the 3D jump resulted in X&Y, and that quickly became the most divisive with fans to say the least due to what's been cited as an anemic amount of content, overall lack of polish, poor performance, and mediocre story / characters.
The world is fleshed out and you even get story from the original's characters both playable and non-playable, but at the end of the day, it's
really a dynamic egocentric antagonist like Handsome Jack that takes this
game from pretty good to
freaking great.

really cool, but not as

Iwata (RIP) was a designer and an engineer at heart, so they've put out some
really freaking great
games in the past 10 years, but they've approached their consoles the same way they approach their
games - if that makes sense - and it doesn't work.
This tough - to - adapt structure might be why many of their
games have grown stale - yes, Splatoon was awesome, and so was Mario Maker, but Mario Kart was a great version of just the same old
game, Mario Party 10 was off its
freaking rocker, the second - party titles were
really lackluster outside of Bayonetta 2 - the new Mario Tennis, for instance, or the fact that we never even got a Mario Golf.
You get to play the Bombchu
game, as a kid you have the Stalchildren (which
really freaks you at the first time you play), and you need to use the days to help you on certain sidequests (biggoron sword).
