game show format to present facts about the Muslim religion.

So in addition to the methods already discussed, we reinforce new vocabulary knowledge in other ways, such as regular classroom
games, use of Vine and Instagram to
create definitions of the words (we show an example below, and you can see more here), and having
students use online academic vocabulary exercises (our favorites are Vocabulary Exercises For The Academic Word List, The Academic Word List at UoP and English Online).
Not only will
students have a better understanding of how the things they use every day (like websites, apps, and
games) actually work, but they will also be on their way to joining the ranks of those who
create these resources.
The projects don't have to be
games: Some
students are using Storyboard That to
create graphic novels, while others are interviewing immigrant family members and publishing the interviews on StoryCorps, a podcasting site for oral histories.
