The top - down action looks like Hotline Miami, which would be interesting to see on the Switch at some point, now that
GameMaker runs on the Switch.

So I recently was working in my prototype playground in
Gamemaker and I'm making a system to get how many seconds have passed while the program was not
running.
For more than 5 years, the community has been
running the gm (48) for
GameMaker developers of all ages and abilities.
Perhaps a surprise, but online multi-player was smallest amount of work to do, taking about 5 days (along with the most basic tweaks to have the game
running in
GameMaker: Studio).
He stated on Twitter that «we're working on
GameMaker Studio 2.0» and that it will
run natively on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
Multitudes of low level system code in C, C++, Java for everything from 3D Engines to the
GameMaker runners (A runner is the component that lets
GameMaker projects
run on different platform targets)
